以前 IBMが研究していた UIMA (Unstructured Information Management
Architecture) は、Apacheのプロジェクトに移管 (?) されていたのですね。

  "UIMA はUnstructured Information Management Architecture の略称で、
   その名が表わすように構造化されていない情報を管理するためのアーキ
   テクチャーであり、ソフトウェアのフレームワークです。IBMの研究所で
   生まれ、2004年にUIMA SDKが一般に公開されました。現在はApache
   Incubator projectに場所を移し、オープンソースとして開発が進められる
   一方、IBMR OmniFind Enterprise Edition をはじめとするIBMのプロダクト
   でも利用されています。"
