" デルは8月24日、事業者や企業のデータセンターにおける外気冷却への
取り組みを支援するため、同社の法人向けIT機器の保証でカバーする
温度範囲を拡大したと日本で発表した。1機種に限定したものでなく、
同社の複数の既存サーバ、ストレージ、スイッチなどに適用される。
具体的には、年間の合計稼働時間のうち、10％までを室温5～40℃、
湿度5～85％、1％までを室温-5～45℃、湿度5～90％、そして残りの時間を
10～35℃、湿度10～80％の範囲で動かす場合、これがデルの製品保証範囲に
含まれるというもの。常時45℃の稼働を保証するというものではない。
目的が外気冷却の活用支援だからだ。"
