"New EMC Disk Library for Mainframe is First Integrated Solution
 for All Tape Use Cases"

EMC DLm6000 2x Faster than Competition and Reduces Reliance
 on Mainframe Tape
 August 8, 2011

News Summary
*)The new DLm6000 is the only solution that can address the full
range of mainframe tape workloads with a single, consolidated
    all-disk system
*)Designed for use in IBM z/OS environments, the new EMC DLm6000
is the industry's fastest mainframe VTL
*)Integrates EMC VNX7500 and/or EMC Data Domain DD890 storage
systems to support all mainframe use cases
*)Matches different workloads to the most appropriate storage

"EMC trundles out deduping mainframe VTL"
 Bus-Tech allied to Data Domain
 8th August 2011, The Register

"The DLM6000 hooks up to a Z/OS mainframe and can use back-end
VNX storage and/or a Data Domain 890. EMC says it's a single product,
the only single product in fact, that can cover "the full range of
mainframe tape workloads with a single, consolidated all-disk system."
It talks about tape workloads such as "backup and recovery,
batch processing, DFHSM migration and data archive", and says
mainframe users no longer have to have multiple systems doing
these tape-related things. That sounds pretty compelling."

"EMC's Stuck on Tape, Speeds Mainframe Performance"
 AUGUST 8TH 2011, SiliconANGLE

"EMC's DLm6000 is aiming to be an all-in-one solution in solving
numerous challenges that mainframe users face in dealing with
   physical tape systems."
